Training overview

Combining techniques from storytelling, body language, vocal delivery and audience psychology, this course is designed to help you communicate with greater confidence, clarity and impact in professional situations that matter most to you. Whether you want to present ideas more effectively, influence stakeholders, lead meetings with more authority or make technical information more engaging, the training is tailored to real business communication challenges. 

You’ll learn practical tools that can be applied across presentations, meetings, pitches and everyday conversations, both virtually and face-to-face. The course also explores how to adapt your communication style for different audiences, handle difficult questions with confidence and navigate challenging conversations more effectively. 

These skills extend beyond presenting, helping you communicate more clearly and persuasively in emails, reports and written communication as well as in-person interactions. 

Module 1

Hero and Mentor

Learn how to be the mentor in your business communications and guide your audience away from their current challenges and towards a better future. We’ll examine the roles of heroes and mentors in films, and also look at examples from TED Talks to see what we can transfer to a business/presentation context.

Module 2

Structure and Storytelling

Discover how storytelling shapes attention, trust and influence in business communication. You’ll learn practical techniques to make your messages more engaging, memorable and persuasive, using the PRO method and other storytelling tools that can be applied in presentations, meetings and everyday conversations. 

Module 3

Body Language

Strengthen your presence, confidence and credibility by learning the six body language techniques used by the world’s most effective communicators. Discover how small changes in posture and gestures can transform the way you connect with others and increase your impact in meetings and presentations. 

Module 4

Vocal Impact

Bring your voice to life. Learn advanced techniques used by actors, newsreaders and great public speakers to engage, convince and speak with authority, as well as how techniques vary for online and in-person scenarios.

Learn how great communicators, from business leaders to TV presenters, use visual storytelling to bring ideas to life and keep audiences engaged. Discover practical techniques to make your presentations, pitches and meetings more memorable, avoid ‘Death by PowerPoint’, and use visual aids with greater clarity, confidence and impact.

Persuasion Skills

Explore the psychology behind how people connect with ideas, make decisions and build trust. You’ll learn practical communication techniques that combine body language, emotion and audience awareness to make your messages more engaging, memorable and impactful. 

Module 6

You’ll learn how to address concerns without defensiveness, earn lasting respect for your ideas, and build stronger relationships with colleagues all while developing the confidence and techniques covered in our objection handling training.

Do I need prior experience?

No prior experience is required. This course is designed for learners of all levels who want to improve their communication skills. The topics, practical training, and guidance from our coaches will help develop your abilities and strengthen your skills, so you can start applying them straight away.

What can I realistically achieve from this course?

You’ll gain practical tools and techniques that you can use immediately. You can expect noticeable improvements in your clarity, confidence and ability to engage effectively with others.

Will I receive feedback?

Yes. Throughout the course your coach will provide direct, personalised feedback to support your development.

How many people will be on the course?

There will be 8–12 participants. During exercises group sizes are kept small to ensure individual attention, meaningful interaction and a high-quality learning experience.

Is lunch included?

Lunch is not included. However, the training venue is conveniently located near shops where you can quickly and affordably purchase food. In the morning, tea, coffee, and pastries will be provided, and in the afternoon, there will be additional refreshments and biscuits.

Do I need to prepare anything in advance?

No formal preparation is required. However, you’re encouraged to bring a real-life communication challenge you’d like to work on. A short example (around 2–3 minutes) is ideal.

Where is the venue and how do I get there?

The course takes place at The Farmer & Fletchers. The venue is centrally located and easy to reach via public transport. It’s within walking distance of Farringdon station, which is served by the Elizabeth line, Thameslink, and London Underground (Circle, Hammersmith & City, and Metropolitan lines). There are also several nearby bus routes, making it convenient to access from across London.
