Richard Newman is an award-winning expert in Leadership Communication, Storytelling and Influence, working in advanced communication since 1995. Richard specialises in showing leaders how to speak with greater impact and influence. He is regularly featured on BBC London Radio and is the author of the best selling book ‘You Were Born To Speak’.
Richard’s clients include CEOs, Vice-Presidents and leadership teams across many industries, including Virgin, Expedia, EE, AXA, Microsoft and 3M.
In 2014 he won the Cicero Grand Award, the most coveted award in the world for speechwriting. In December 2018 he published his book ‘You were Born to Speak’ which on launch day ranked with Amazon as #1 best-seller on both kindle and hardcover editions.
Richard began by ‘Teaching English as a Foreign Language’ living in a Tibetan monastery in India. He then studied professional acting in London for three years. Richard worked as an actor on stage and screen, whilst continuing to study communication skills. Richard has been featured on Sky TV, Channel 5 News, in the Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, Forbes Magazine and the Huffington Post.
Richard founded Body Talk in 2000 and began working with a well-known Formula 1 team. His team at Body Talk have now worked with over 75,000 clients from 46 countries around the world. Last year they helped one client win over £1.2 million in new business by improving the way they communicate.
Christian was trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and subsequently received a scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he worked with vocal advisor to Sir Cameron Macintosh and Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber. Christian worked as a professional singer in London’s West End, including shows such as Phantom of the Opera, Martin Guerre and Evita, as well as Show Boat at the Royal Albert Hall.
Christian delivers large masterclasses, small group workshops and 1-2-1 VIP Personal Coaching. He regularly supports Senior Business Leaders and CEO’s with Public Speaking engagements, helping them to flex their natural styles to better suit their messages and audiences..
He is still in demand as a solo singer appearing with the Royal Philharmonic orchestra, The Halle Orchestra, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Concert Orchestra. He also delivers occasional performances for Friday Night Is Music Night with BBC Radio 2, including performing in front of 36,000 people in Hyde Park, London. Christian therefore fully understands how to perform under pressure, as well as how to create stage presence and increase confidence for important events.

As a specialised communications coach, Christian shows people how to create better rapport, increase their personal impact and write effective content. This includes major projects with Barclaycard, London Business School, Cass Business School, EE, Expedia, 3M, PepsiCo, Aldi and numerous other blue-chip companies.
Emily started her career working with the Guardian News Group, writing and producing corporate films & audio programmes for clients. She also conducted media training, working with many journalists including John Humphries, Peter Hobday, Peter Prendergast and Tom Maddox.
After re-training as a professional actress in her late twenties, Emily worked for many years in Regional Theatre and Television (appearances include Emmerdale, Coronation Street and The Bill). She is also a successful voice over artist for Radio and Television (clients include Love Productions, Bassetts, The Scouting Association and Stepchange).
As well as extensive work for Body Talk, Emily is also an award-winning writer. She has written for the BBC Radio 4, as well as creating a six-part comedy television series, in which she also starred. Her television series ‘Lottie’s Lot’ was developed by the BBC and had a pilot produced. At the time of writing she has 2 comedy series in development, one with Big Talk and another with Tiger Aspect.
Emily has a thorough understanding of communication, through style, structure and delivery, which she teaches with a passion for helping people succeed in business.
Emily is a specialist in business storytelling with a wide range of experience in presentation and impact training, acting, voice-over work and screenwriting.
Emily has been involved with coaching clients in presentation and media skills for more than 20 years. She strongly believes that a business lives and dies through its ability to communicate great ideas and services. Her screen writing and performance skills, will help bring out the best of those abilities in your most valuable asset – your people.
Carole worked in Television for over 15 years. Her role as a Journalist and Live Presenter on mainstream programmes included: The National Lottery, The Secret Tourist, Don’t Get Screwed (all BBC), How to Look Good Naked (Channel 4), GMTV (ITV) and The Entertainment News (MTV). This experience allowed Carole to devise practical strategies for communicating effectively under pressure and connecting with a range of different audiences.
Carole has worked as a Trainer and Coach since 2007 specialising in communication, media training and peak performance. As a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Carole focuses on the psychology that allows you to attain your goals, increase your confidence and develop strategies for consistently high results.
Carole coaches companies and individuals in all aspects of presenting – from speaking to camera for in-house material, to a live client pitch or for conference presentations. Her role includes a mix of personal one-to-one coaching, working with teams and delivering keynote presentations at conferences.
Her energy, work ethic and motivation are contagious and her down to earth approach puts clients at ease. She will help you to develop essential skills in a safe, honest and progressive learning environment.
Alina Jenkins is an award-winning presenter & broadcaster who has worked extensively across radio & television since 2001.
She has spent most of her career at the BBC, initially with South Today and BBC Radio Solent, where she was one of only four women at the time to host their own speech breakfast show.
In 2013 she joined the BBC National Weather team in London and regularly presents forecasts both nationally and internationally. Alina can be seen on Countryfile, the Six and Ten O’clock News, as well as Radio 4.
Alina has a wealth of experience in communicating science and understands what you need to bring to presentations and communications to connect and engage with your audience.
Alina’s skills as a presenter and communication skills coach enables her to successfully teach techniques in presence, storytelling, presenting to camera and how to perform at your best under pressure.
Following a 3 year diploma in acting at The Oxford School of Drama, Jamie has been working in London as a professional actor for the past 14 years.
Over his career, he has appeared in TV programmes such as BBC’s Luther, performed on stage including The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and featured in countless commercials all over the world.
This experience has allowed him to understand the requirements of performing at your best, whether it be live to audiences large and small or in front of the camera. He understands the importance of body, mindset and voice in maintaining calmness and confidence in difficult situations.
Jamie has worked as a Big Buddy mentoring young children, a Private Tutor for a renowned Central London agency and has a Coaching Skills certificate from The Academy of Executive Coaching.
Charlie studied acting in both London and New York and is an accomplished and accredited, trained actress with a wealth of experience in commercials such as, VW, Danone Yogurt, Disney, Capital One, Sainsbury’s, Nokia, Vitabiotics, Tour de France, Transport for London and the Football World Cup.
She has also delivered voice-overs for Classic FM, featured on TV and films and many in-house corporate training videos. Charlie has filmed the last three series of The Apprentice, playing Lord Sugar’s receptionist along with recording all the voiceovers for the TV series.
Charlie is also a qualified trained and inspiring psychotherapist, tailoring therapy to the individual client, integrating the affective, behavioural, cognitive and psychological systems to gain insight and understanding of one’s issues.
With experience in both performance and psychology, Charlie has a unique ability to instantly put clients at ease whilst encouraging and supporting clients to reach their full potential, increase their inner confidence and develop essential communication skills that will assist them both personally and professionally.
Chetan is an award-winning Broadcast Journalist, with over 15 years experience working for the BBC across television and radio. He can currently be seen presenting sport bulletins and programmes on the BBC News Channel and BBC World TV as well as on the Six O’Clock News and the News at Ten. As a correspondent and reporter he’s also worked on Radio 4, Five Live, BBC Asian Network and BBC London, always writing and producing his own content.
Chetan took a short break from the BBC in 2010 when he was awarded a scholarship to train as an actor at The Oxford School of Drama. He appeared in a range of TV programmes including BBC1’s ‘Holby City,’ the Sky One series ‘Stella,’ and the US drama ‘Berlin Station.’ His time at drama school gave him the confidence to move from radio presenting to TV when he returned to the BBC. It also enabled him to become a professional voice-over artist, and he’s narrated dozens of audiobooks for Amazon Audible and the RNIB.
Chetan has worked as a trainer and facilitator for a range of businesses and organisations, sharing his vast experience and inspiring others to be the best communicators they can. He has also spent time teaching English in India and Spain and speaks fluent Gujarati as well as having a good understanding of Hindi and Spanish.
Mark has been a professional actor for almost 20 years. Since training at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, he has performed on stage in West End shows including The Woman In Black and has toured internationally. He has also appeared in hundreds of audio dramas for the BBC and Audible, and works regularly as a narrator on audiobooks and films.
Mark has been a communications trainer since 2007, working with clients around the world to develop their personal impact and effective structuring of content. Clients include Rolls Royce, Telefonica, Novartis, and numerous other international companies.
As an actor, understanding and engaging an audience is something that Mark does instinctively. He believes that the key is authenticity, and he guides others to use tools and techniques alongside their own natural style for maximum impact. Having performed to audiences in the thousands he also understands how to manage the pressures of live performance and take to the stage with confidence.
Mark’s warm and approachable style quickly puts clients at ease. He naturally creates a safe environment in which they can feel confident to explore and work outside their comfort zone. Successful communication is never one- size-fits-all, and Mark prides himself on taking time to understand the needs of his clients and their audiences.
Katy started out her career as a race instructor, a precision and stunt driver working at all UK major racetracks and driving centres. It was here she learnt that clear communication and reading peoples body language was key, not just for fast laps, but for customers to enjoy a great experience. Poor communication lead to drivers not being able to get the best performance out of the cars. On a small number of occasions, clear, calm and concise communication was actually the difference between life and death.
From here, Katy moved into the corporate world as a coach, keynote speaker, trainer and facilitator. Working in the automotive industry as a sales capability specialist for many years. More recently she has been working Internationally with luxury brands through to High Street banks and start-up businesses.
Katy has provided individual and team coaching alongside leadership development in organisations where change and challenge is constant. She specialises in building awareness and practice of communication skills through verbal and non-verbal intelligence to improve 1:1 conversations, presentations, and customer interactions.
Her no-nonsense approach allows learners to safely identify areas where their behaviours might negatively be impacting their confidence and influence.
Donna is our Accounts Manager and deals with everything financial after your training has taken place.
She qualified as a Chartered Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers and while there, travelled to many different clients as part of the audit team so has seen a wide variety of companies across a spectrum of industries.
She will be more than happy to answer any financial questions, queries or concerns you have.
Sarah first joined Body Talk in 2011 and is now COO and Head of Client Services. Her provision of client-focused operational efficiency has been instrumental to the growth of Body Talk.
Since graduating with an honours degree in Law, Sarah’s career has encompassed graphic design and bid management for a global construction and design company. These roles have equipped her with a broad and complimentary range of skills and experience that she is able to apply for the benefit of Body Talk Clients.
Harriet has worked for Body Talk since 2015, acting in the capacity as a Client Executive. In 2016 she became a Client Relationship Manager responsible for a portfolio of clients and became a Senior CRM in 2020.
Prior to Body Talk, Harriet worked for one of the largest HE colleges in the East, as a student Learning & Development Coordinator, as well as being an Adaptive Coach for British Rowing.
This experience in analysing needs and developing students and athletes alike, has been conducive to her role in developing strong relationships with clients. With her positive and assiduous manner, Harriet takes pride in ensuring clients get the most from their training with Body Talk.
Julie joined Body Talk in 2018 and organises all of our international travel when we deliver training programmes to our global clients.
Shakira has worked at UK Body Talk since 2018 coming on board as a Client Relationship Manager. She recently project managed the single largest training programme to date for one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.
Prior to joining us Shakira spent 6 and a half years working in the food industry, first as Operations Co-Ordinator & PA for a UK Seafood Restaurant Brand and then as a Bid Manager for a contract catering service in London.
Keeley is a passionate and highly driven individual who prides herself on delivering the highest levels of Customer Service to all of our clients. She has an acute attention to detail, and is able to swiftly gain a true and clear understanding of her clients’ needs and requirements.
Keeley’s career path started over 10 years ago in the private aviation sector. She has had direct contact with high net worth individuals, and the most discerning of clients from all over the world, which is where her attentiveness, attention to detail, and all round flexibility began to grow. Keeley soon progressed into management which is where her understanding of business blossomed to make her a very well rounded and company focussed colleague.
After joining Body Talk in 2016 as our Travel Coordinator, Keeley brought with her additional dexterity, and perspectives to the team. Having picked up continued knowledge in accounts, she has progressed further into one of our Client Relationship Managers. Keeley has been supporting all elements of our business, from training aspects, through to processing our clients’ BodyTalk journey, from initial enquiry all the way through to invoicing and after training feedback support.
Alongside the rest of the Body Talk family, her passion is to help as many people as she can with their developments in creating fantastic events, that leave invaluable skills and intelligence with all of our clients, who continue to return to us time after time.
Joining the Body Talk team last year as a Client Relationship Manager, Lydia works with a number of clients from a variety of industries. Acting as main point of contact for her clients, she is responsible for the organisation of both virtual and face to face training events from start to finish.
When Lydia joined the team, she brought with her a wealth of experience having worked directly with both commercial clients and consumers. She understands the importance of listening to the clients requirements, to ensure their needs are met. Previously working as a project manager, she has learnt how to help clients achieve their goals whilst adhering to both deadlines and budget.
