Guiding Youth Ambassadors to speak at major profile events

Ashley Williams came to Body Talk in 2022 having previously experienced the Body Talk training first-hand, he shared that the Body Talk training remained memorable and highly impactful year after year.

Ashley was searching for a training provider who was adaptable to host Personal Impact and Storytelling training for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Youth Ambassadors. This ambitious group of young people appear at major profile events to speak about the work of the charity and their experience as a participant of the award. Ashley wanted training to resonate with this youthful audience and give them the skills and confidence to write and share their own personal Duke of Edinburgh Award Story.

Over the last few years, we have evolved the Youth Ambassador training from virtual coaching sessions to an in-person, interactive 3-hour medium-group workshop. We love supporting the young people to effectively share their story, and to present with greater confidence and impact.

We have reached other audiences within the Duke of Edinburgh award such as hosting at their major calendar event, the Youth Without Limits: Beyond The CV event in 2022. We created a bespoke Being Limitless: Confidence, Personal Brand and Impact Masterclass for 200 participants and DofE Award holders aged 16-24 years, who joined from across the United Kingdom.

Body Talk has been grateful for inspiring young attendees and equipping them with communication skills they will utilise in their personal lives and future careers.

“We recently worked with BodyTalk, who delivered an online session to 30 DofE UK Youth Ambassadors, aged 16-24, from a range of backgrounds across the UK. The purpose of the session was to upskill the Ambassadors on how to share their DofE stories effectively to audiences, both virtually and face to face. BodyTalk was really flexible and adapted the session to suit the Ambassadors needs and various requirements, for which we are very grateful.

Alina, the session facilitator was absolutely fantastic and built trust and rapport with the Ambassadors straight away and the positive impact of the session is clear to see. The Ambassadors now have a much greater awareness and confidence in how to speak in front of people, build rapport and positively influence. Alina is a class act and brought her real life learned experiences into the workshop. The Ambassadors have come away feeling so empowered and energised and can not wait to put their new skills into practice, speaking at a range of DofE events over the next few months. Having attended several BodyTalk masterclasses in a previous role, I know how impactful this training is and still use the skills that I gained several years down the line. You are not just sitting there listening to another presentation – the way this training is delivered really does stick with you. BodyTalk is fantastic at what they do and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”
